Climate Change

There has been a lot of talk about one angle of a phenomena called climate change. Climate change is a phenomenon in which there are sustained alterations in the level of temperatures experienced, precipitation and wind directions in an area. These changes occur naturally as well as through human endeavors like deforestation, industrial burning of fossil fuels and other activities. Melting of glaciers and other forms of ice caps is inevitable, and there will be increased sea level, extreme weather events like floods, heatwaves, and hail storm.

Causes of Climate Change

ree

Although natural process such as volcanism and solar activity can cause global warming; today’s warming process is man made. The burning of fossil fuel as in coal, petrol and gas gives rise to the production of carbon-dioxide as well as methane as greenhouse gases. Consequently, it heats up the planet’s atmosphere thus leading into uprising in temperature of the earth. Nevertheless, a number of steps should be taken to combat this climate change. Therefore, it is only by reducing the carbon footprint which will help us attain this objective. These goals can be achieved using methods such as saving on energy, implementing green sources of energy such as wind or solar power or going completely vegan. Therefore, we need to reduce dependence on plastic packing and come up with green policies that have minimal impact on the environment.

Encountering Climate Change

There are many ways through which we can cut down on the use of energy. These include lighting and other electrical items that run when they are not operational, use of public transport services or even car pooling which reduces energy requirements in your home. Another alternative for minimizing carbon emission involves adoption of renewable energies such as wind and solar power. Solar and wind as a substitute are clean and do not produce greenhouse gas emissions. Green houses gases are among the largest emitters in animal agriculture production. Therefore, we need to make an effort of minimizing on processed foods such as milk and beef products that have a larger effect in our foot prints. Additionally, we should reduce the use of single disposable plastics using multi use bags/bottles/boxes. It is possible to use environmental education as an additional strategy for helping to prevent global warming. We must learn about the implications of climate change and how we should reduce carbon emissions.

In conclusion

The problem of climate change should be addressed with urgency since addressing this issue is critical. Climate change is very important to the environment, and we should be accountable for the effects of our decisions made. We can therefore mitigate the impacts of climate change and ensure a favorable future for next generations by cutting on our carbon footprints, encouraging sustainability promotion, educating and engaging in support for environmental organizations.
